Disaster Preparedness
Course Description
This course includes instruction on creating a site-specific preparedness plan, tailored to fit the needs of your facility and employee-base. The course is preempted by a meeting with the client to discuss their needs and to formulate a plan; training involves the implementation of the plan and training of all employees to follow the plan.

Course Length, Content, & Cost
The Disaster Preparedness course runs approximately 2 hours, depending on class size and level of detail per client's facility. The course includes, a brief planning/consulting session with management, instructor-led discussions, instructor-led practice scenarios, and peer practice sessions. The course is offered for only $40 per participant plus $50/hour during the planning/consulting session. A minimum class cost of $320. Upon successful completion, each participant will receive a certificate of course completion.
Course Objectives
This Disaster Preparedness course was developed to achieve a proactive stance to disasters as opposed to a reactive stance. The goal is to prevent a disaster before it happens. However, we cannot always avoid violence in the workplace, fire, earthquakes, floods and other natural disasters from occurring on occasion. We need to be prepared to deal with these circumstances appropriately by seeking a safe place, phoning 9-1-1 and administering help to others. By getting an entire site's employees/members on the same page, you will save lives and see reaction time during a disaster, diminish.
