BLS for the Healthcare Provider

Course Description
This course was created to instruct Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR, AED and the relief of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) techniques to those who work in the healthcare industry. The course covers the American Heart Association Chain of Survival, recognizing a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking.

Who Should Take a BLS for the Health Provider Course?
The information provided in this BLS course is vital to anyone working in a healthcare profession. These positions may include employees of dental, doctor, or therapy offices; hospitals; nursing homes, rehabilitation centers; emergency medicine, fire fighting, and special education. In addition to these professions, anyone who needs to have a more advanced working knowledge of CPR and AED should participate in this class

Course Length, Content, & Cost
The BLS course runs between 3 and 4 hrs. depending on class size. This course includes a video presentation, instructor-led discussions, instructor-led practice scenarios, and peer practice sessions. MediTech, LLC offers this class for only $40 per participant. A minimum class cost of $300. Upon successful completion, each participant will receive a course completion card from the American Heart Association

Course Objectives
BLS for the Healthcare Provider was developed to achieve an increase in survival from sudden cardiac arrest by educating workers in the healthcare industry to begin early CPR and administer early defibrillation. By enhancing the healthcare providers knowledge of early access and early CPR/AED, the healthcare provider will be more confident and calm in an emergency situation.
